1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking.

    Prepare the Zucchini: Carefully wash the zucchinis under cold water, then slice them into rounds approximately ½ inch thick. Arrange the slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

      Season the Zucchini: Drizzle a light coating of olive oil over the zucchini rounds. Next, sprinkle them with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Gently toss the rounds with your hands or a spatula to ensure each piece is evenly coated with the seasonings.

        Bake the Zucchini: Place the baking sheet with the seasoned zucchini rounds in the preheated oven. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until the zucchini starts to soften and becomes slightly tender.

          Add Sauce and Toppings: After 10 minutes, carefully remove the zucchini from the oven.
