Ingredients

For the Turkey Chili:

1 lb ground turkey

1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 cup chicken broth

2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Sliders:

12 slider buns

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Sliced jalapeños (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Turkey Chili:

    - In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes soft and translucent.

      - Next, add the ground turkey to the pot. Using a wooden spoon, break it apart and cook it, occasionally stirring, until it’s browned and cooked through, which should take about 5-7 minutes.

        - Once the turkey is browned, sprinkle in the chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir everything together and let it cook for another minute to allow the spices to become fragrant.

          - Now, introduce the drained kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes (including their juices), and chicken broth into the pot. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then lower the heat to maintain a gentle simmer. Allow the chili to cook for approximately 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens nicely.

            Prepare the Sliders:

              - While the chili simmers, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

                - Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, laying the bottom halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

                  - Spoon a generous dollop of the turkey chili onto each slider bottom, ensuring they’re well-filled. Then, sprinkle a handful of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the chili.

                    - Place the top halves of the slider buns over the cheese, pressing them down gently to secure the filling.

                      Bake the Sliders:

                        - Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes. You'll know they are ready when the buns are slightly toasted and the cheese is melted and bubbling deliciously.

                          Serve:

                            - Remove the sliders from the oven and allow them to cool for a minute or two on the baking sheet. For a burst of color and flavor, consider garnishing them with chopped fresh cilantro and sliced jalapeños, if desired.

                              - Serve the sliders warm, and enjoy these delightful Turkey Chili and Cheese Mini Sliders that are perfect for any gathering!
