Steamed broccoli or an assortment of mixed vegetables

Additional sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.

    Make the Meatballs:

      - In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat of your choice with panko breadcrumbs, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, the egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

        - Use your hands or a spoon to mix the ingredients gently until just combined; avoid over-mixing to keep the meatballs tender.

          - Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and arrange them evenly on the prepared baking sheet.

            Bake the Meatballs:

              - Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked and have a nice golden brown color. Ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Prepare the Sticky Garlic Teriyaki Sauce:

                  - In a medium saucepan, combine the soy sauce, mirin, honey (or maple syrup), minced garlic, and grated ginger. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it gently simmers, stirring occasionally.

                    - Whisk in the cornstarch mixture, and continue cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency. Once thickened, remove from heat.

                      Combine Meatballs with Sauce:

                        - As soon as the meatballs are done baking, remove them from the oven and immediately transfer them to the saucepan containing the sticky garlic teriyaki sauce. Toss them gently until they are well-coated in the sauce.

                          Assemble the Bowls:

                            - For serving, place a generous scoop of cooked rice in each bowl. Top the rice with a portion of the sticky teriyaki meatballs, followed by steamed broccoli or mixed vegetables of your choice.

                              Garnish and Enjoy:

                                - Finish each bowl by sprinkling sesame seeds and additional sliced green onions on top for added flavor and a delightful crunch.
