Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 ripe avocado, diced

1 cup fresh salsa (store-bought or homemade)

Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish

Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for approximately 3-4 minutes, or until the onion becomes soft and translucent.

Brown the Ground Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the lean ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Sauté until fully browned, which should take about 5-7 minutes. Ensure that the beef is well-cooked and no pink remains.

Season the Beef: Add the chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and freshly ground pepper to the cooked beef. Stir well to ensure the beef is evenly coated with the spices. Allow it to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, letting the flavors combine beautifully.

Warm the Tortillas: As the beef mixture is cooking, prepare the tortillas. You can warm them by placing them in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side. Alternatively, wrap them in foil and place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 10 minutes until soft and pliable.

Assemble the Tacos: Take a warm tortilla and spoon a generous portion of the seasoned beef mixture into the center. Top with equally generous amounts of diced avocado and a dollop of fresh salsa, allowing flavors to meld together.

Garnish & Serve: Finish the tacos with a sprinkle of freshly chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice for an extra burst of flavor. Serve immediately, accompanied by lime wedges on the side for additional zest.

              Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 25 minutes | Servings: 4
