Ingredients

1 package (14 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

6 slices thinly sliced ham

6 slices cheese (Swiss or cheddar, your preference)

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 egg (for egg wash)

Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it's hot and ready for baking your croissants.

Prepare the Dough: Open the package of crescent roll dough and unroll it onto a clean, flat surface. Carefully separate the dough into individual triangles along the dotted lines.

Spread Mustard: Take about ½ teaspoon of Dijon mustard and spread it evenly onto the wider end of each triangle, ensuring a zesty base for your filling.

Add Ham and Cheese: Lay a slice of ham followed by a slice of cheese on top of the mustard. Feel free to fold the ham and cheese to make them fit nicely within the triangle's edges.

Roll Up: Starting from the wide end, roll the triangle up towards the tip, creating a crescent shape. Make sure to press the ends firmly to seal your croissant.

Egg Wash: In a small mixing bowl, crack the egg and beat it well. Using a pastry brush, apply the egg wash generously over the tops of each croissant to achieve a beautiful golden finish when baked.

Optional Topping: For an added crunch and flavor, sprinkle sesame seeds over the egg-washed tops of the croissants before baking.

Bake: Arrange the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place them in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until they turn a delightful golden brown and are flaky to the touch.

Cool and Serve: After baking, remove the croissants from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Transfer them to a serving platter for a beautiful presentation. If you’d like, garnish with fresh parsley for an added touch of color.

Enjoy: Serve your Mini Ham and Cheese Croissants warm, perfect as an appetizer, snack, or a delightful breakfast option!
