Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef (or use ground turkey for a leaner alternative)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust according to your spice preference)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 green onions, finely chopped (reserve some for garnish)

1 cup cooked jasmine rice (or substitute with brown rice for a healthier option)

1 cup broccoli florets (or any preferred vegetable)

1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Kimchi (optional, to serve on the side)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade:

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Set the marinade aside for later use.

      Cook the Ground Beef:

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 5-7 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked all the way through. If there's excess fat, drain it off carefully.

          Add the Marinade:

Once the beef is cooked, pour the prepared marinade over it, stirring well to ensure the meat is evenly coated. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and the flavors to integrate.

              Steam the Broccoli:

While the beef is cooking, prepare the broccoli. Steam the broccoli florets using a pot with a steam basket or in the microwave until they are tender yet slightly crisp, which should take about 3-5 minutes.

                  Assemble the Bowl:

To serve, spoon a generous portion of cooked jasmine rice into the bottom of each serving bowl. Top the rice with a hearty serving of the Korean ground beef followed by the steamed broccoli.

                      Garnish:

Finish the dish by sprinkling chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds over the top. For those who enjoy extra heat, add a dollop of kimchi to the side.

                          Serve:

Dive into your hot Korean Beef Bowl, mixing the elements together for a delicious and satisfying meal experience!
