1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh basil, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp olive oil (for grilling)

For the Peach Salsa:

2 ripe peaches, diced

1/2 red onion, finely chopped

1 small jalapeño, seeded and finely minced (optional for added heat)

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Juice of 1 lime

Salt and pepper to taste

For Serving:

4 whole grain burger buns

Crisp lettuce leaves

Sliced avocado (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Peach Salsa:

    - In a medium bowl, combine the diced peaches, finely chopped red onion, minced jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

      - Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture and stir gently to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Allow the salsa to rest for about 10 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

        Make the Turkey Burgers:

          - In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the ground turkey, whole wheat breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, minced garlic, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

            - Mix by hand until the ingredients are just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.

              - Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.

                Preheat the Grill:

                  - Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 375°F (190°C). Lightly oil the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

                    Grill the Turkey Burgers:

                      - Place the formed turkey patties on the grill. Cook them for about 5-6 minutes on one side, or until they are golden brown.

                        - Carefully flip the burgers using a spatula and grill for an additional 5-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

                          Assemble the Burgers:

                            - If desired, toast the whole grain burger buns lightly on the grill for added texture.

                              - On the bottom half of each bun, layer a crisp lettuce leaf, followed by one grilled turkey patty. Spoon a generous amount of peach salsa on top and add sliced avocado, if using. Cap it with the other half of the bun.

                                Serve:

                                  - Serve the turkey burgers warm, accompanied by a side of sweet potato fries or a fresh green salad for a refreshing contrast.

                                    Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 4
