Ingredients

12 jumbo pasta shells

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)

1 cup cooked ground turkey (seasoned with salt and pepper)

2 cups fresh spinach, chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 large egg

½ teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon dried basil

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it's ready when you need it.

Cook the Pasta Shells: In a large pot, bring salted water to a vigorous boil. Carefully add the jumbo pasta shells and cook according to the package instructions until they reach an al dente texture. Once cooked, drain the shells in a colander and lay them flat on a baking sheet to cool slightly.

Prepare the Filling: In a spacious mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, ½ cup of the shredded mozzarella, ¼ cup of the grated Parmesan, cooked ground turkey, chopped spinach, minced garlic, egg, oregano, basil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to mix everything thoroughly until smooth and evenly combined.

Stuff the Shells: Take each cooled pasta shell and gently spoon in about 2 tablespoons of the filling mixture, ensuring they are well-packed. Arrange the filled shells seam-side up in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Add Marinara Sauce: Pour the marinara sauce generously over the stuffed shells, ensuring that each shell is fully covered. Then, sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly on top for that melty, cheesy finish.

Bake: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 25 minutes. After this initial baking, carefully remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.

Serve: Once out of the oven, allow the dish to cool for a few minutes. For a touch of freshness, garnish with a few fresh basil leaves before serving warm.
