Ingredients

12 jumbo pasta shells

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided (plus extra for garnish)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup marinara sauce

1 cup heavy cream

Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat and Cook Pasta: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large pot, bring plenty of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the jumbo pasta shells and cook according to package instructions until they are al dente. Once cooked, drain the shells and set them aside in a colander to cool slightly.

Prepare the Beef Filling: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and the onion becomes translucent, approximately 5-7 minutes. If there is excess fat, carefully drain it from the skillet.

Season the Mixture: To the skillet, add the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Once combined, remove the skillet from the heat.

Mix in Cheeses: In a separate mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese, and all of the Parmesan cheese. Using a spatula, stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Stuff the Shells: Carefully spoon the beef and cheese mixture into each jumbo pasta shell, filling them generously. Arrange the stuffed shells in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, ensuring they are snugly placed.

Create the Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the marinara sauce and heavy cream until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Pour this sauce evenly over the stuffed shells, ensuring all shells are coated.

Top with Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the casserole for a luscious, cheesy topping.

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once the casserole is baked to perfection, remove it from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Before serving, garnish with finely chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
