Ingredients

1 loaf of fresh French baguette, sliced into 1-inch pieces

1 cup sliced salami

1 cup sliced prosciutto

1 cup cubed sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup crumbled creamy goat cheese

1 cup green grapes, halved

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

½ cup black olives, sliced

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Fresh herbs for garnish (recommended: rosemary or thyme)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter, ensuring it’s ready for your casserole.

Layer the Base: Arrange the sliced baguette evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish, creating a solid foundation for your casserole. The bread will absorb the flavors as it bakes, so make sure it's well covered.

Add the Meats and Cheeses: Distribute the sliced salami and prosciutto evenly over the bread layer. Next, sprinkle the cubed cheddar cheese and crumbled goat cheese over the top, ensuring that every bite will be cheesy and delicious.

Incorporate Fresh Ingredients: Evenly scatter the halved grapes, cherry tomatoes, and sliced black olives over the cheese layers. This adds both freshness and vibrant flavors, enhancing the overall dish.

Mix the Egg Mixture: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Pour Over: Carefully pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the baking dish, letting it soak through the bread and vegetables. This will help bind everything together as it bakes.

Bake: Place the casserole into the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. You’ll know it’s done when the eggs are set and the top has formed a lovely golden brown crust.

Garnish: Once the casserole is out of the oven, allow it to cool for a few minutes. For an appealing presentation, sprinkle fresh herbs over the top, adding a burst of color and flavor.

Serve and Enjoy: Cut the casserole into squares and serve warm. This dish is perfect alongside a light salad or enjoyed as a brunch centerpiece.
