6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

1 cup mini marshmallows

1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup diced apples (preferably Granny Smith or your favorite tart variety)

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Additional caramel sauce for drizzling

Optional: fresh apple slices for garnish

Prepare the Apple Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples with ground cinnamon and a pinch of salt. If desired, fold in the chopped pecans or walnuts to add a delightful crunch. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld together.
