8 oz (225 g) fresh mozzarella balls, cut in half

1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn or kept whole

½ cup red onion, thinly sliced

¼ cup extra virgin olive oil

¼ cup balsamic vinegar

2 tbsp balsamic glaze (either store-bought or homemade)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: ½ tsp garlic powder or 1 clove fresh garlic, minced for added flavor
