Ingredients

1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade if you prefer)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup sliced pepperoni (or your choice of veggies)

1/4 cup diced bell peppers (any color)

1/4 cup finely chopped onions

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Olive oil spray (for air frying)

1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Grated Parmesan cheese (for optional garnish)

Fresh basil leaves (for optional garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

    - If using store-bought refrigerated pizza dough, lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.

      - If making your own dough from scratch, follow your recipe instructions and roll it out to the same thickness.

        Fill the Dough:

          - Cut the rolled-out dough into squares, aiming for approximately 3x3 inches.

            - In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced pepperoni, diced bell peppers, chopped onions, and Italian seasoning. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

              - Take a small spoonful of the filling mixture and place it in the center of each dough square.

                Seal the Rolls:

                  - Fold the corners of each square over the filling to form a triangle or rectangle, depending on your desired shape.

                    - Firmly press the edges together using your fingers to ensure a secure seal. For a decorative finish and extra security, use the tines of a fork to crimp the edges.

                      Preheat the Air Fryer:

                        - Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for approximately 5 minutes. This step is crucial for achieving even cooking.

                          Air Fry the Pizza Rolls:

                            - Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking.

                              - Arrange the prepared pizza rolls in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they are spaced apart to allow for proper air circulation. You may need to cook them in batches if necessary.

                                - Lightly spray the tops of the rolls with olive oil to enhance their crispiness.

                                  - Air fry for about 6-8 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and crispy. Halfway through cooking, check and flip them if needed for even browning.

                                    Prepare the Marinara Sauce:

                                      - While the pizza rolls are air frying, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. Alternatively, you can heat it in the microwave for a few minutes until hot.

                                        Serve:

                                          - Once the pizza rolls are cooked to perfection, carefully remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute.

                                            - Serve hot alongside the zesty marinara sauce for dipping. For an added touch, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top and garnish with fresh basil leaves.

                                              Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4
